Privacy Policy

MyCarePrice is a read-only price information site. We publish Medicare payment anchors for outpatient procedures and billing guides. You do not need an account to use any of it, and the site never asks you for health information. This policy lists every kind of data the site handles, who handles it, and the choices you have. If something here stops being true, the policy changes before the site does.

Summary

Information we collect

No accounts. The site has no registration, login, or user profiles.

No health information. We do not ask for, and you should not send us, personal health information, insurance member numbers, medical records, or bills that carry personal identifiers. The contact form is for corrections and site questions only. If you paste something sensitive into a message by mistake, tell us in a follow-up message and we will delete it.

Server and security logs. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes standard request data such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, and timestamps to deliver pages and block abuse. We do not use these logs to build profiles of individual visitors.

Analytics. The site loads Google Analytics 4 (the Google gtag.js tag). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to report aggregate figures such as which pages are read, roughly where visitors are located, and what type of device they use. We use those figures to see which guides and procedure pages are useful and which are not. We do not combine analytics with any personal information from the contact form. You can block the measurement with a browser that blocks trackers, by turning off cookies, or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

The Price Anchor Explorer runs entirely in your browser. The procedure and facility type you choose are not sent to our servers. They may be remembered in your browser's local storage so the tool reopens where you left off, and you can clear that with the tool's reset control or your browser settings.

The procedure quote worksheet and Good Faith Estimate checker also work in your browser. The Good Faith Estimate checker saves your entries in local storage on your device so you can return to them. Nothing you type into either tool is sent to us.

Advertising and cookies

Today the site does not load any advertising script and does not show ads. A standard ads.txt file is published at the site root. It is a public declaration of authorised ad sellers and sets no cookies.

If we enable Google AdSense in the future, the following will apply. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies, we will ask for it before any such cookie is set.

Advertising, if enabled, will not change which Medicare anchors we show or how we verify them, and it will not be placed inside the price tables or tools.

The cookies that exist today come from Google Analytics. Cloudflare may also set a short-lived security cookie to tell real visitors from automated traffic. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, and the site works with cookies turned off.

How we handle messages

When you send a message through the contact form, we receive your name, email address, subject, and message text. The form is submitted to a Cloudflare Worker that checks a Cloudflare Turnstile challenge to filter spam and then forwards the message to us. We use your details only to reply and to confirm corrections you suggest. We do not sell email addresses, add correspondents to a mailing list, or publish messages. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to resolve the question and record any resulting correction.

Third parties and links

The service providers involved in running the site are Cloudflare (hosting, security, and contact-form processing) and Google (analytics, and advertising if it is ever enabled). The site also links to external sources such as CMS and state price portals. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Do not enter personal health information into any site reached from here unless you have read that site's own privacy policy.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to some processing. Because we hold only contact-form correspondence and aggregated analytics, the practical request is usually to delete a message you sent us. Send that request through the contact form and name the subject line you used. Analytics data is held by Google under its own retention settings, and we do not tie it to your name.

Children

The site is general price information for adults arranging outpatient care. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and is a static site with no database of visitor records, which limits what could be exposed. No internet service is risk-free, so do not send information you would not want a third party to read.

Changes

We update this policy when the site's practices change, for example if advertising is enabled or an analytics tool is added or removed. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
